This video will help keep employees and their coworkers safe around hazardous chemicals by showing them how to access critical information and by encouraging them to put that knowledge to work in their job.
According to OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (HCS), employee who work with potentially hazardous chemicals must receive information about how to use those chemicals safely including knowing how to read and understand the newly revised Globally Harmonized System (GHS) labels and 16-section Safety Data Sheets.
According to the new GHS format, hazardous materials that arrive at your warehouse or work site will appear with new, strictly defined labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDSs). Your workforce needs to be prepared to understand this new way labeling format and data sheets which is meant to help them recognize dangers and work safely.
Viewers will learn to recognize all 8 pictograms using sample labels and SDSs onscreen as well as see the locations of the various label elements and how these elements work together. They will also go through all 16 sections of the new Safety Data Sheet so that they will know where to go for additional details.
